The Importance of Beer Scoring
We are always looking for ways to be proactive in our approach towards supporting our members, licensees and the objectives of CAMRA as a whole. Putting aside the national political lobbying and campaigns, two important parts of CAMRA's work locally are the Good Beer Guide and Pub of The Year awards. Nominations for these prestigious awards comes from our membership using the National Beer Scoring Scheme to score their Ale they drink in various pubs. This is even more important now with the expansion of our area that includes the Hednesford, Nortin Canes, Rugeley, Burntwood, Chasetown, Great Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay areas; to ensure that the many excellent pubs and clubs who consistently serve good ale are recognised and become eligible for nominations from you through your local branch.
We would be obliged if you would take 5 minutes to look through this powerpoint presentation - The Importance of Beer Scoring - and the links on it to understand the importance of and how to score your beer using WHATPUB if you do not already.
We have 400 members and if our members scored just 1 beer in each pub they visit in the area, then we would have a greater reflection of the quality of our local pubs & clubs. This in turn would give greater recognition to the dedicated licensees & staff who strive to deliver us all the best Real Ale that they can.
