The AGM of the Branch was held at the Cross Keys on 4th February, and a new committee has been elected (or in the majority of cases, re-elected!). The posts can be seen on the contact page of the website. Dave Guy has stepped down as chair after two years, and the new Chairman is Malcolm Pearson, previously chair since the branch's inception. Dorinda Gibbons returns as branch secretary, and Dave Guy actually steps sideways into the role of Treasurer, vacated by Neil Slattery after four years. Don Taylor also returns as Pubs Officer, whilst Barry Wilkins will now concentrate solely on GBG and beer scoring matters.
Most of the other posts remain the same, although the role of Social Secretary will now be shared by Kevin Whitehouse and Phil Raybould, both experienced in that role, and already planning excursions throughout the year.
A very big thanks to all members who are stepping down from the committee for all the hard work and efforts, they really have worked hard.
You will already have noticed on the diary page information about future meetings and POTY presentations, and the new committee look forward to seeing as many members supporting the local branch in social and campaigning activities throughout the year.
Our two "biggies" this year will be an ale trail in late spring, and of course, the 5th Cannock Real Ale and Cider Festival from 20th to 22nd of September. Keep watching the website, and come along and get involved, it is sometimes hard work, but rewarding!
